I am not a tequila fan by any account. However, this one works decently well. I would question the choice of base style, as a Gose is not a beer that I think lends itself to this idea. However, I do get the general idea that since Gose is brewed with a notable salt presence, it at least sounds like it might work. But a Gose being a wheat based beer, I think, is the limiting factor here. I've always considered a citrus-y west coast hopped IPA or Double IPA as a better candidate for tequila barrels.

Appearance is quite a bit darker than I expected. Much more than most examples of the Gose style I've had before. The aroma on this one is actually a lot sweeter than I would have originally thought. Taste is equal parts that same sweetness, as well as a quickly fading tequila "thing". There is also something else on the very end of the taste that stands as what I consider "unintentionally sour". I think you would have to see for yourselves on that one. Overall, I must say it's a worthy attempt at a very twisted Gose/agave beer. The sweetness might put some people off, to be honest. But that sweetness is just sour enough to be interesting to a certain extent. The after-taste of tequila is unusual to be sure though.
