64oz Growler
Flossmoor Station

Milky Way was on tap for St. Patrick's Day weekend so I picked up a growler. Gurgles from the growler and into my glass a solid shimmering black, if that's possible. A very faint caramel brown highlight shows up at the bottom of the glass when backlit. A fingers worth of mocha head grew on the pour and quickly became creamy before fading to a skimming and a solid ring around the glass. The head leaves patchy thin lacing after each sip.

I'm really diggin' the aroma! A touch of light roastiness starts things off but falls to the background letting brown sugar, caramel, and dark chocolate all in that order of intensity. The brown sugar really sets things off and makes the nose extremely inviting.

The flavor possesses the same characteristics but mixes them up a bit. The light roastiness lays the groundwork but the caramel, brown sugar, and chocolate lead the charge. Caramel is more pronounced than the nose suggested and finishes strong. The brown sugar is sprinkled lightly throughout and there's just a hint of dark chocolate. Good stout!

Medium bodied with a nice smoothness. Leaves a touch of bitterness on the swallow. Mid-palate through the swallow a mellow creaminess takes over.

This is a highly drinkable stout. Weighing in at 4.1% and with the medium body this makes for a great session stout. Easy enjoyable drinker!

Another good beer from Flossmoor! This place never disappoints. I never catch many types of stout on tap at Flossmoor and I'm glad I caught this one.
