Cold, wet, dark day. This looked mighty appealing.
Flat out gorgeous. Golden tawny color with just the soapiest white mane I have seen in some time. Loosely bubbled yet frothy. Chill haze finds itself active with carbonation streamers migrating upward with a sense of urgency. Awesome staying power, with seductive lacing when things finally do begin to calm down.
Aroma is of wheat fields, clove, banana, musky melon, bread and honey. Dry leather and dust round things out.
Taste reveals citrus - orange rind and grapefruit pith - surprising, the nose gave no indication. Other than this element, true to the nose - soft fruits, bread and funk. Nice, lingering light hop bite in the finish.
Moderate in body, smooth, dense almost creamy mouthfeel - more than ample carbonation. Sticky yet dry in the finish.
Nothing really stands out with this one - carbonation is slightly over the top, but pleasantly so. Perhaps a little lacking in taste, but the other three elements more than make up for it, overall. Love the appearance and funk, thirst quenching capacity is off the charts, fairly true to style. More-so Belgianesque than most, this goes a long way in my book.
Thanks Jeff!
