Deep murky mahogany with a brownish cast overlay to its brawny body. Densely crowned with a light sandy brown foam about a finger high lasting for a bit before settling to a thin skim and thicker set collar ring. Only a few specks of lace stick about the glass edge.
Aroma is all about chocolate chip oatmeal cookie dough, tangy malty maple, dark rum warmth, toasted coconut, burnt caramel, and some slight smokey peet found in most well-crafted Scotch ales.
Taste is super soft, smooth, and tasty with a heavy handed brown sugary sweet tang that's deeply seeded in maple sided maltyness, a bit of vanilla, some cookie baking spices, and a nice earthy, smokey layer that resides once the finish begins. The malty rich tang sinks in with a delicate dryness of fluffy, rummy warming graham cracker softness. Wow! Crazy yummy and complex in its malty warmth.
Smooth, malty, tangy, rich, decadently fulfilling body with a mega warming attribute that really sets the pace for a slower session with a nice touch of spice that reminds me of the good Ol' days when my Mom would spend the day making and baking all kinds of cookies.
