Old Review
12 oz bottle I got out of a sixer from the Grub Mart in J'ville, AL for $3.99 (I guess this is happening everywhere). Poured into a standard pint.
A: Pours a very bright, beaming yellow. Almost neon. This thing is bright. The head is fluffy white, a little over a finger, but has zero retention. Any lacing is thin and watery.
S: Smell is of grains, wheat, bread, and honey. The honey is very pleasant in the aroma. Nothing to over bearing. Just a tinge that lets you know it is there and prepares you for what's next.
T: Taste is . . . not so great. I get the wheat, and citrus flavors from your normal Blue Moon, but there is a metallic quality that isn't present in big brother. The honey is a little too sweet, but is bearable. Whatever that metallic funk is needs to go.
M: Light bodied with a really nice and crisp carbonation. Goes down pretty clean except for a touch of that metallic aftertaste. Not going to feel any alcohol here. A touch above average.
D: This is a shame because I really do enjoy Blue Moon when I am in a bind or just want a cheap session. This beer could be a hell of a lot better and needs some tweaking. Still a worthy effort and it is drinkable, but just not the most enjoyable of beers. 5 more to go.
