Shared a fresh growler of this with my good friend n8h (from BA).
A: Dark brown to black with a tinted head. Decent head retention.
S: Firewood, bacon, caramel, and peat. Smoke is so intense it is difficult to get much more out of the aroma.
T: More smoked malts than I thought you could throw at a beer. It tastes like a barbecued brisket from the local smokehouse.
M: Medium body, slight sweetness, and a strange coating of the tongue.
D: This is so-so. I mean, if I was eating some BBQ ribs or other smoked pork product, this would be the perfect brew to compliment. However, on its own tends to be a bit overwhelming. I don't think you could make this a session beer, but it is a wonderful example of the style.
