Pours a clear dark brown with a big foamy light brown head atop. The foam slowly settles and leaves pretty lacing stuck to the walls of the goblet.

Medium malt nose with a small hint of chocolate. Slightly creamy smellin' with a touch of light toffee. Some nice roasty notes come through too.

Smooth medium malt body. Touch of chocolate and a hint of light toffee. Nice medium sweetness to the malt. Some roasty notes and hint of char. Slightly creamy in body and fairly easy drinking. Some nice roasted malt sticks around in the aftertaste.

Much lighter then I was expecting from a beer that bills itself as "double dark" and much more along the lines of just a dark lager but very drinkable and tasty.

Served In: Snifter
