A - Pours a dark black, slightly inky looking body. No head whatsoever. Slight ring of fine bubbles around the edge of the glass. Slight lacing that runs down the side of the glass, but doesn't stick too long.
S - Bourbon and vanilla from the aging overpower all other scents. I can pick out some baker's chocolate out of the bourbon, but that's it.
T - Bourbon doesn't hold nearly as strong as the smell. Starts with an initial burst of bourbon and vanilla with hints of oak. Works into a rich chocolate flavor then turns to some coffee bitterness. Finishes with a smooth taste of oak and vanilla at the finish.
M - Full bodied and velvety smooth.
D - This beer gets better and better as it warms. Very nice BA Impy Stout.
