How do German lions say “roar?” Thanks to brentk56 for trading. The pour is a semi-cloudy orange color with amber highlights. A good head that hid to the side of the glass during the tasting.
The smell has a light Oktoberfest smell with strong Vienna notes in the malt. In the background, there are some caramel touches and somewhat a fig aroma. A lighter sweetness to it.
The taste has a good malty flavor. Vienna malt is noticeable upfront and backed by a sweeter Oktoberfest finish. Some lighter grainy flavor that is board line toasty in a way. A good finish that has hints of chalkiness. The hops are light but balance the malt. A light grassy finish as well.
The body is good with more of a mid feel then full. Decent carbonation and as noted, a light chalky finish. I don’t know how a lion says it, but I say it “yum!”
