Big thanks go out to jj21 for hooking me up with this growler.
A - To start off this doesn't really have any head at all, but then a small dense head forms on the top out of nowhere. It quickly fizzes down, leaving just a ring of bubbles around the edge. Body is a deep dark brown with vibrant garnet highlights that show when the glass is brought to the light.
S - Lots of ripe red fruits. Cherries, raisins, plums, and figs. There is a super light roast here. Touch of caramel. Sweet malts all over the place.
T - Whoa. Flavor far exceeds what I expected when I smelled this one. Huge dark and red fruitiness combines with flavors of chocolate and anise. Cherry, fig, raisin, plum, and dates. Rich and full. Hidden beneath the intense fruitiness is a light caramel flavor and just a hint of roastiness. This is like a bottle of fruits dipped in just a hint of chocolate.
M - Rich and full bodied. Smooth carbonation.
Overall - How in the heck is this 8.9%? It drinks really easily and I am probably going to regret the speed with which this growler will go down. This has a lot of characteristics that remind me of Surly One. Great beer that I would love to see added to Capital's regular offerings.
