Beautifully dark crimson, glossy black vinyl/album/record hue in most light; medium beige head that sits with a creamy puff, settles slowly to keep a slim collar and whispy skimming. Minimal spotty lacing sticks.
Aroma is gentle and fair of fruity dark stuff with prune, raisin, dates, and plum, with a bit of an overlay of red licorice and butterscotch.
Flavors are extremely well-rounded, not a single exposed fruit makes itself known, everything melds together to make one nicely mild dark fruit salad. Tenuous candy aspects. Basically all malts with a subued tang to its character; slight cocoa, light mixture of alcoholic heat, cherry pits, raisin, and wood dry off with a tenderness to the palate. Some residual burn keeps along the back of the palate for a good while after.
Feel is soft and lush with a close to full body, very low/light carbonation, well-rounded and fluffy texture. Smooth and delicately creamy with a slight dry finish and a slender warmth of alcohol to keep it on edge. Everything about its character screams drink me, enjoy me; and you will have no problem with that.
