The initial aroma hits me as Whoppers malt balls. Pour mostly black with plenty of creamy brown head, and beautiful lace. Plenty of whisky, and a nice smokieness. I seem to get more of the beer’s character here. That’s exciting. Some nice roasted and chocolate notes. And dare I say some hoppy bitterness? The body seems a bit on the lighter side, but tend to prefer the chewier imperial stouts. Above average amount of carbonation. Dry finish. Good show.
