Best before 31/08/2008. The pour is black, but not opaque. The head look like that upon a frothed cappacino. I’m picking up the usual suspects in the nose, though much more in harmony with each other then a lot of its type. A complex blend of of oak, whisky, vanilla, toasted marshallow, and a very nice layer of smoke. Mmmmm. Chocolatey. The whisky character is totally unoffensive. A pleasant oaky dry flavor. Medium body. Average carbonation. Dry finish. I tend to like my imperial stouts a bit fuller body. That being said, this is soooo easy to drink, and the flavors are all in close to perfect balance.
