From the infamous Brew Dog – poured from a 330ml bottle - still not what I would call a real IPA – it may be an English IPA style, but too hot on alcohol – and to get the alcohol this high (9.2%) they had to use a lot of malt – and that malt is prominent – way to malty, not hoppy enough despite their assertions that the beer is hoppy – like many of the East Coast brewers, apparently the ones in Scotland too, think a lot of malt that overwhelms the hops is a good thing. Maybe so, but not for a hop head. This is similar to the “Meantime IPA†but not nearly as good – where the Meantime has hops and the English bitter beer flavor, this has malt and bitter beer flavor – not a bad beer but I likely would not purchase again.
