Color is a light straw gold, paleish yellow - tall, billowy, paper white head of tight soupy foam that fades slowly to a thin hazey top always present; leaves some spotty lace.

Aroma of lemons in front, with wheat, banana esters, and a light sweet malt in the backing. Quite a fresh and spritzy nose.

Taste of light but favorable malt and banana ester start, nice fluffy breadyness on the tongue, swallow brings in wheat textures that are lemony sweet and smooth, clean, clear, with a very slight hint of yeasty spiceyness and vanilla.

Feel starts out kinda spirtzy and full textured with a gradual turn into a light bready crisp and clean dry finish. Very drinkable and easy, excellent summer wheat brew to quench down.

Purchased this bottle from Four Winds of P'cola, FL in a mixed brewery sampler. Poured into the weizen glass that bears the name of this fine brewery.

A: A very vibrant yellow that is exactly what you expect from this beer: Crystal friggin clear. Had to be careful on the pour because this beer wants to provide you with some serious head. Got almost 3 fingers of big time, foam head. The retention was pretty good as it receeded to a never dying top cap that leaves so nice, carbonation filled lacing streaks. Seriously active carbonation is constantly streaming up this beautiful brew.

S: Smells like a thin Hefe. Got some nice subtle scents of yeast and wheat. Clove and banana are there with a touch of citrus. A very subtle sugary sweetness is on the backend.

T: Once again, just a perfectly nice thin tasting Hefe. Banana and clove come is oh so subtle. Wheat and yeast are there very nicely to add some nice earthiness to this brew. The sweetness is also there and very subtle along with just a splash of citrus flavor. Although this is subtle, it is still great. Very damned tasty.

M: So beautifully clean and crisp. This on the light side of medium in body. Carbonation is a heavy but necessary. Makes this beer so damned crisp and refreshing. Clove and banana linger a bit to remind who is the big brother of this beer. So nice.

D: If this poured freely, I would pull from that stream each day. This brewery is amazing and it shows you why they have stood the test of time. All of their brews are great, this is no exception. Drink up, can't wait for my Vitus!

Pours a beautifully clear light golden color. Hugely active head- you can hear it on the pour. Two fingers high at least- and it quickly disappears. Very active streamers from the bottom. Little to no lacing.

Aroma is straight forward- yeasty, lemons and banana. Makes my mouth water.

Interesting. I really expected more "banana", and it is there, just not as noticeable as I had thought. In addition, nice notes of cloves, lemon and orange zest, and somewhat bready. Slight hop bitterness and somewhat dry towards the finish. Very clean tasting.

Light/moderate in body, smooth and a bit dry in mouthfeel. Excellent carbonation. Crisp.

What's not to love about this beer? An easy drinker, crisp, clean, completely refreshing. Gotta love it...
Highly Recommended!!

*Uploading my old reviews, this one has a review date of: 7-20-07. If I can acquire the beer again I will re-review it*

Picked this one up today by mistake as I thought I had grabbed the hefeweissbier.

Poured into my hefe weizen glass. Very active even with a careful and slow pour. This one is a clear, filtered, wheat beer and has the color of store bought apple juice. About two fingers of white head and continuously effervescent.

The aroma is wonderful, with grape, green apple, pear, slightly lemony and a sweet wheat malt backbone. It smells like a fruit salad, yum.

The taste is just like the aroma, very clean and mouth coating as well. Very fruity, almost too fruity for me but I'm enjoying it.

Very solid all around. Would pick this up again, and it was a nice beer to drink on a warm day.

Pours a clear, light straw color into my glass. The head is creamy, stark white, and about 3 fingers thick. It provides light, spotty lacing and has average retention. There bubbles are dense hinting towards heavy carbonation.

The aroma is light and crisp, with touches of banana and cloves. Some wheat and grassy hops are also present.

There is a slight grassiness and bite from the hops initially, but this beer is all about the classic weizen flavors. There is loads of banana and cloves in the middle, and then some nice lemon twang in the finish. The flavors work amazingly well with each other and in my mind this is everything a weizen should be.

This beer has the typical creamy body I’ve come to expect from Weihenstephaner beers. At the same time, it has a bit of a bite from the heavy carbonation. I’m not sure how it manages to be so heavily carbonated, yet remain so creamy and smooth at the same time, but it does. If I could change this beer in any way, I would just make it a little less carbonated, but not much.

This is an extremely well made beer. I could drink these all day long, especially on a hot summer day. Very refreshing and easy drinking.
