Thanks to Tip Top for the bopple.
Pours opaque with a tan head that sticks around for a while before settling down. Aroma of milk chocolate, a bit of roastiness in the background, either oats or lactose can't pick out which.
Hmm... interesting. There's chocolate pretty much up front throughout, something along the lines of a 60% cocoa mass darker-than-milk-but-not-intense chocolate bar, but the supporting cast changes over the sip. First up is a slick, oily oatmeal signature flavor, which recedes into a roast, slightly burnt taste in the middle, which isn't around quite long enough to be off-putting before a more mellow, coffee bean roastiness comes along. Finishes with a slight mineraliness. Solid bitterness throughout, but no real sense of hops. Slightly oily and moderate body, seems appropriate.
This brew is just a couple of ticks off from being really impressive; as is, it's an enjoyable bottle.

A - Pour produces very little in the way of a head. Only a smell covering forms, only to recede to a ring around the glass within ten seconds. Body is very dark brown and completely opaque.
S - Lots of chocolate up front on the nose. Dark roasted barley malt. Touch of lactose.
T - Starts off with dark chocolate with a slight bitterness. Roasted barley comes in with about a medium roast flavor. Ever so slight flavor of coffee bitterness at the end.
M - Slick feel, medium bodied.
Overall - Not bad. I wish the flavor was a little more robust with a bit creamier mouthfeel.
