Rodney Kibzey stand up. Pours a hazy nutty brown color with a good head and lacing. Both last through the entire tasting.
The nose is sweet with more of malty feel. Nice caramel touches with no real hints of wheat, but a feint honey smell. A very distinctive yeasty smell with soft esters. Nice banana and a touch of bubblegum on the backend. Some grape aromas, more like juice than wine.
The taste is well represented. A decent malt backing with a sweeter caramel and a noticeable wheat presence. For style I would have liked more of a malt presence (more bock like) but still good. The phenolic back now compared to the nose. The bananas are lighter with more of a banana bread flavor. Some spices that enhance the bready quality, with nutmeg and cinnamon. Some lighter earthy hops in the finish.
The body is closer to mid than anything. Would have like more body but still ok. Carbonation is light which helps the sweeter flavors come out. Overall a good beer but lighter tweeks would make this better. Thanks for sharing.
