Thanks to NFLMVP for this bottle.

Pours jet black with a big thick bubbly brown head. The foam slowly settles and leaves some lacing that slowly slides down the walls of the glass.

Big woodsy notes up front. Nice light bourbon and big oak. Sweet malt with a light bubblegum note. The rest of the aromas are overtaken by the oak notes. Some light chocolate and a touch of toffee. This is about the biggest oak aroma I've come across in a beer.

Light and fairly smooth carbonation. Like in the aroma, big oak notes. Almost like chewing on the oak cubes. Light bourbon with notes of vanilla and even sherry. Other flavors are subdued much like in the aroma. Some light chocolate and a bit of roasty malt but not much for an imperial stout. No sign of alcohol hotness. Just a very slight hint of oxidation.

Totally different then any oak aged imperial stout I've had but very nice in it's own way.

Served In: Snifter
