Very dark brown, mostly black with nary a sliver of dark ruby at the edges. Small capping of tanned firm foam slips away quickly to an always present mist and fluffy collar. Lacing is well stitched across the glass in a fine sheeting and tiny strings.

Aroma is mostly dry and dark of roasted malt, has strong notes of old coffee, dried pencil erasers, char, chalkboard must, and weird alcoholic smoke and rubber. Mostly off setting and off at first but milds out a bit as it sits, but still unpleasing.

Taste is a dry dark brigade of char and old coffee flavors that's fairly robust yet mildly placed and lasts with alot of left over charred bits, smoke, and very light raisin skin sweetness. The dryness is forward and bittered in a old coffee, heavy roasted tone thats a bit much. Some may like it, but the bitterness wasn't matching the char enough for me to like it much.

Feel is dry and roasted with char wrapped in a semi rounded mediumish body. Lengthy dryness unsues to the Nth degree with char, smoke, and ash. Very light backing of dark malt sweetness, but man, this had some bigtime char stuff that just wasn't my thing.

An OK dry stout. Perhaps a bit one sided with the char and some offness that was unsuiting to the overall experience.
