Bright and clear highly yellow body with a moderate pacing of bubbles racing upwards. Small whitish capping of foam developes quickly to then reside to an always present thick film and collar. Thin horse shoe shaped lacing is complexly linked together across the glass.
Aroma is slim and clean with a light sweet starchyness of grains and bread dough.
Taste is pretty good with a steady flavor and crispness of sweetish bread dough added with a twist of dark bread crusts and light grassy elements pinching out a very tiny bite and bitterness.
The feel and body of this "macro" is where it truly stands out from all the others that overly trend and market the style. Quite fullish, smooth, clean, crisp, and finely textured with a bready grit and grain. Nice finish that lasts of lightly tendered toasty malt and tinted with a grassy hop bite.
Totally drinkable and down right solid for a sessionable summer-time lager. Not surprised that August Schell knows how to get a beer like this right.
Plus, the goofy marketing to the fisherman crowd and its funny label make for great conversation. However, not too sure why its so spendy, as its pricy tag compared to other "Macro" cheap shelfers may lure away most fisherman who would rather spend their extra cash on actual bait?
