Color seems the same with a slightly chill hazed orangey bronzed color with a medium stack of off-white foamy sponged froth. Lacing has an intricate pattern of tigheter to looser stringy-like sheeting from top to bottom.

Aroma isn't as juicy this time around, more dry and earthy, with a dirty leafyness over only a slight doughy orange tea.

Taste too is different as it tends to have more of a dry hop sense and earthy, tender orangified tone. Still solidly robust in malts, more toast tilted, and a favorable rounded fruityness that renders a big citrusy realm of orange(more so) then the peach, mango, and pineapple stuff; and the piney bite as it fades across the finish has nearly left all together. Kinda grapefruity with a touch of pine. More of an earthy, dryish leafyness coated in a waxy-like, semi-chewy hop abundance of a slightly roughened texture tends to perk the buds in the close. The well tuned balance of adequate malty sweetness and sugared breads has tamed and tends to be more leafy and earthy this time around.

Body is rounded and fairly full with a lighter juicy roundedness thats not overly bittered, yet fulfilling, yet carries a fairly big hoppy taste of orangey fruit and fluffy pined earthyness that isn't quite as juicy as the first time this was quenched and reviewed.
Otherwise, I still find it quite easy going and smoothy bitten with good citrusy (more orange) fruit and piney dryness within a wet tinny bite. Alcohol isn't as evident as the last time I had it as its soupy and sudsy stuff has been taken aside to have the earthyness prevail.

Still, again, this seems more like a top IPA, and not quite giving that Dbl IPA vibe. Yet still enjoyable. And much better as it warms. The juicyness returned slightly. But I found a bit more earthyness and a slight tug of toasted malt this time then the first. Perhaps another is needed?

Hopmouth pours a very dark orange, bordering on garnet, but glows when held to the light. Slightly hazy with clumped groups of rising carbonation. Two finger ivory head formed on the pour and stayed put becoming dense and craggy over time but without receding. Leaves thick drink line lacing after each sip. Great looking head but the body is a little too hazy.

Smells of lightly toasted grains with a solid helping of caramel throughout. Mild vegetal aroma but it's surprisingly not a turn of, reminiscent of celery. Big grassy hops with a squeeze or two of grapefruit juice. Alcohol vapors tickle the nose as it warms.

Biscuity and caramel malts start things off and are quickly followed by a quick wave of alcohol. A grassy hop bitterness washes over the tongue along with hints of grapefruit and pine needles. The caramel makes an appearence again on the swallow. Good flavorful IIPA.

Medium body that becomes airy and creamy when it hits the tongue. Moderate carbonation with a solid bitterness.

Easy drinking enjoyable IIPA. My glass is disappearing far to quickly.

Good solid IIPA. Balanced but with big waves of malt followed by big waves of hops. My first encounter with Arcadia Ales and I wouldn't hesitate to venture back.

Are you trying to mouth the word “hop?” Cause it looks like “Bob.” Pour is a mostly cloudy orange to light amber color. A good frothy head at the pour but did hide to the edge relatively quickly.

The aroma was hoppy but rather light with some citrus backing. Some organic smells as well. A touch of pine and a sprinkle of floral and orange qualities. Not much malt back.

The taste was more malty then the nose would indicate and the hops are rather lacking altogether. The hops start with a piney bitterness that is mild. Not really bitter. In the background you can taste a very sweet malt with a somewhat candy caramel flavor. The finishing hops are rather limited with orange and subtle citrus flavors. For a DIPA, this is really lacking in punch.

Although smooth to drink there really isn’t much complexity. The body was light to mid and carbonation is average. I guess they were looking for something more balanced, but everything was average.

A - Upon popping the top on this one I got that smoking gun whisp of smoke coming out of the bottle. Pours a cloudy apricot body with a lot of bubble action. Huge, fluffy tan head looks pillowy from the top, but soapy from the sides of the glass.

S - Copious amounts of hops here, both citrusy and piney. Sweet caramel malt backbone.

T - Sweet, sticky, piney hop bitterness hits up front, but is balanced by a slight strawberry sweetness. Caramel notes are there too. Finishes with an almost sour bitterness. No aftertaste to speak of.

M - Medium bodied with very sticky hops and aggressive, but not cloying carbonation.

D - This is a good, but not great DIPA. A bit more citrus flavor and some work on the carbonation could elevate this to the upper eschelon.

Pour is an awesome dark copper/amber color, not quite clear. With a nice sized head that lasted a while. The smell is a little meh, especially for a DIPA. Again, taste is good, just not for a DIPA. This makes this big brew very drinkable, and if was just and IPA, would be solid.
