Fresh bomber pours into my glass a wonderful peach color with amazing clarity and a half inch of creamy white head that leaves some spotty lacing. Enticing. Aroma is all hops! Tropical fruit, grapefruit, green hop resins, floral accents and a bit of spiciness. Really shows off the Simcoe and Amarillo. Mellow caramel sweetness in the background.

First sip brings all hops upfront. Citric, tropical, herbaceous with green leafy resins. A bit floral with a mellow underlying sweetness from crisp light malts. Flows down with a bitter kick and lingering hops on the finish.

Mouthfeel is smooth with fast moving carbonation making this brew immensely drinkable. This is just a damn good IPA that I would be buying many bombers of if it was available locally. If you have access to this consider yourself lucky!

Not as good as the Nelson, but still a good effort from Alpine. Pours a nice dark golden hue with hop smell. Lots of grapefruit on the nose. Very light, but hoppy flavorful taste. Can’t taste the alcohol, but the beer is flavorful without being bitter or strong. Almost no malt but the two hops (hence “Duet”) show through.

Big thanks go out to metallitone1 for this growler.

A - Very normal clean golden colored body. Tons of tight bubbles racing to the surface. Smallish head is very light tan and made of tight bubbles.

S - Hops jump out here. Big citrus notes with grapefruit, lemon and just a touch of tangerine. Pine hanging around for the hop party too. Some green and grassy hops. Delicate ripe fruit. There's malt here? Hugely robust for an IPA.

T - Hop cones come at you right away, but not in the bitter blast you would expect. Bits of grapefruit and orange peel. Sweetness added in with strawberry, some honey and sweet malts. That iced tea flavor that you get from some hoppy brews. Based on the nose, I was expecting something more harsh than this. This doesn't really take hold of the tongue, but more envelopes it. Never gives you much, if any puckering bitterness.

M - Medium bodied with a bit of stickiness in the hops. Carbonation is soft.

D - Very, very easy to drink. I wonder if this doesn't translate as well in growler as straight from the source. It is very tasty, but not quite at the level of some of the reviews that I have read. I will have no problem finishing off this growler in quick fashion.
