Notes from a trip to Cordova AK June 2002

Fairly hazey yellow color with a full foamy white head. Mild smell, this was almost to mild, very light hops and some lemon-like notes. Taste of sweet hops and hints of lemony fruit and fruity sugars, light but solid. Nice and smooth, light and pleasing feel with a medium malt body, excellent. Finish is also smooth, a little dry with a great, thin hoppy tone.

One hell of a great easy drinker!

Do you know what the capital of Alaska is? No but did-Ju-neau? Pours a golden amber color with great clarity. Decent head with great lace throughout the tasting.

The aroma has a nice balance between malt and hops but somewhat minimal. Some generic malty aromas and some minor grainy aspects. The hops have a light citrus and some floral notes. Some minor yeast note but mostly clean.

The taste is similar to the nose. A clean mix of malt and hops. Nothing overwhelming for the malt taste, mostly base or pale. The hops are blended nicely with good amount of bite from the more earthy hop notes. The after taste confirms the strong bite of bittering hops as the aroma hops are limited. More of a grapefruit taste is noticeable and mellows the flavor down a bit. A limited citrus note is present as well.

The body is light and could stand for more of a malt backing. A good crisp finish. Overall I would like to see more depth but it is enjoyable and easy to drink.
