10oz gobet for $3.50 during happy hour at Stub and Herbs (normally $5).
Pours a clear deep mahogany with a nice red tint. Small off white head quickly settles and leaves no lacing on the glass. A small ring of foam remains around the edge of the goblet.
Deep swee and fruity malt aromd fills the nose. Plenty of dark Belgin candi sugar and touches of fig, raisin, and other dark fruit are abundant. Smells great.
Smooth malty body with some toasty flavors and lots of dark malty goodness. A bit of deep toffee flavor comes through for a hint. Smooth fruity flavors are great. Mingling dark fruits come together wih rasins, figs, elder berries, and other dried fruit notes. Hint of light chocolate and then a nice light fruity note on the tongue for the aftertaste.
No sign of the 8.5% ABV in the aroma or flavor and great drinkability make his one a dangerous brew. A 10oz goblet or a 12oz can are good serving sizes unless you have a DD or don't have to drive.
