12 oz can I picked up at Hop City. I think the four pack ran me 9.99 or so. A bit pricey. Served up in a tulip.

A: Darker, reddish brown body pours up. Held to the light, a bunch of bright garnet pours though. The body appears to be pretty clear and has a steady carbonation activity. The pour got me a finger of off white head. Fall slowly to a thick ring. Spotty lacing builds all the way down the glass.

S: Smell is big time hops. Luscious, fruity, tropical, hops goodness. Little bit of pine in there as well. Getting a nice caramel backbone that starts taking over. Sweet, touch of toffee. Behind that is the rich date presence. Not what I expected but it smells amazing.

T: Things kind of reverse in the flavor. The caramel malt, figs, and dates come out first and foremost. Rich, sweet, delicious. Then, out of no where, get slapped in the face with huge hops. Lots of tropical fruit: mango, orange, passion fruit. The flavors kind of combine for an almost fruit cake type flavor sans all the spices but with a little booze.

M: Medium body with a medium carbonation. The beer is sweet but dries up quickly with all the hops bitterness. ABV is very present, warming in the throat, and belly. Aftertaste is all hops.

OA: Not at all what I expected, but it was incredibly tasty. The big malt and huge hops work incredibly well together. I was expecting a more subtle beer, but this was a very pleasant surprise. I was worried about the price but it have proven to be well worth the price. Very nice.
