AGE THIS BEER!!!
Pours a deep slightly cloudy red/brown with a thin head that hangs around a bit. Aroma of marzipan, caramel, toffee, fruitiness and some slight spiciness (nutmeg?)
Deep, toffee and Belgian fruitiness abound in the flavor. Dark cherries, figs, marzipan, and toffee, velvety smooth. Faint spiciness and alcoholic warmth tickle the back of the throat, but no burn. Carbonation very fine, never gets in the way. Finishes with a very nice, fruit and toffeish flavor. Creamy mouthfeel.
Had one of these fresh - like TT's review, there was a lot of coarse carbonation. Aging transforms this beer. I'd say let it go for one or two years minimum and you'll be rewarded for your patience.
